SYRACUSE -- A 26-year-old man is dead after being gunned down while riding his bicycle on a Syracuse city street.

Police say Ezequiel Otiz-Pizarro was shot just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday and died at University Hospital a short time later.

They say as many as 60 people had gathered at the murder scene by the time investigators arrived, but the crowd began to break up before police could interview everyone.

Police are continuing to look for suspects. There was no information immediately available on how many times Otiz-Pizarro was hit or whether he was the target of the attack.
