Five from the Cayuga Community College have received special honors. Two staff members received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence and three received the 2008 Alumni Association Awards.
John B. Clark, interim chancellor of the State University of New York, announced recently this year's recipients of the SUNY Chancellor's Awards for Excellence include: Edward J. Kowalski, Jr., director of distance learning and special programs at CCC, for excellence in professional service, and William A. Prosser, of the business and economics faculty, for excellence in teaching.
Across the state's 64 SUNY campuses, 228 faculty and staff members received the 2008 award in various categories.
“I commend each of them for their dedication and service to their respective campuses, and thank them,” Clark said in a release.
The SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence honors consistently superior professional achievement, and recognizes honorees as role models within the SUNY community.
In addition, The Auburn/Cayuga Community College Alumni Association honored three members of the CCC faculty and staff with 2008 Alumni Association Awards: Paul Shinal '73, assistant professor of business; Judith Campanella '78, Fulton campus librarian and assistant professor, and Susan Witmer '90, assistant director of the Fulton campus.
Established in 1993, the awards recognize alumni of CCC (or Auburn Community College, the original institution), for outstanding contributions in careers, the arts or service to the college or community.
