Seymour offering activities for all

The Seymour Library is gearing up for summer, and we are offering activities for children, teens and adults.
Here's a summary of our programs during June and July:

• June 21: The Go Club meets at noon. Learn the ancient Chinese game of strategy.

• June 26: The Coffee and Conversation book club will be discussing “A Dry White Season” by Andre Brink at 11 a.m.

• July 8: The children's summer reading kick-off party will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on the library lawn. Enjoy games, refreshments and music by Bob Lyna.

• July 8: Teen Tuesdays at Two: We'll begin our first-ever summer reading program for teens, sponsored by the Everett Trust. Those entering sixth grade in the fall through 12th grade are invited to join us for Teen Tales at 2 p.m. Learn about recently published books for teens, as well as older books that you might not have discovered.

• July 9: Children can make a spider pop at our craft class at 11 a.m. Space is limited, so please register by calling 252-2571.

• July 10: Babies and their caregivers, join us for Storytime on the Lawn at 11 a.m. with special guest Karin Moskov, presenting a program on Sign Language for Your Baby and You.

• July 15: Magician David Moreland will perform for children at 11 a.m. in the community room at SS. Peter and John Episcopal Church, 169 Genesee St., across the street from the library.

• July 15: Teen Tuesdays at Two: Teens, do you think you are tech savvy? Join us to explore recreational and educational Web sites and databases at 2 p.m. Space is limited; call 252-2571 to register.

• July 16: Children can make a flutterby mobile. Space is limited, so please call 252-2571 to register.

• July 17: Children and caregivers, join us for Storytime on the Lawn at 11 a.m.

• July 21: The Coffee and Conversation book club will be discussing “Little Heathens” at 7 p.m.

• July 22: Just Clowning Around will perform at 11 a.m. in the community room at SS. Peter and John Episcopal Church, 169 Genesee St., across the street from the library.

• July 22: Teen Tuesdays at Two: Teens, join us at 2 p.m. to discuss the book “Turnabout” by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Space is limited, so please call 252-2571 to register.

• July 23: Children can make a bee bouquet. Space is limited, so please call 252-2571 to register.

• July 24: Children and caregivers, join us for Storytime on the Lawn at 11 a.m.

• July 29: Teen Tuesdays at Two: Teens, if you want to provide input regarding how the library can improve, and if you want to help us plan programs for teens in the future, please join us for our first Teen Advisory Group meeting at 2 p.m. Space is limited; call 252-2571 to register.
