How can it be that so many county employees have access to the treasurer's office? Where are the controls and security procedures?
It is very disturbing and dangerous how so many things are off limits because of Barack Obama and his wife because you can't talk about anything to do with them. It's like what goes on in Auburn, which just wants a liberal monologue in Auburn and no dialogue at all.
Just saw on television the police officers from around the area are training to be bicycle officers. I'm curious as to whether or not Auburn is going to have officers on bicycles.
You have to be clueless not to admit that baseball is fixed to get the Yankees into post-season play, when you see the ridiculously easy 18 games they have with the National League while all their contenders are forced to play much, much stronger National League teams.
If "The Citizen" is to survive as Auburn's primary morning news source, many changes must occur. National news coverage should be a priority, not limited to one or two pages tucked behind the sports section and local issues may fade into the background.

What ever made you think that Russert was an intellect? Wow. I would he agree he was generally a nice guy and all, but I'd draw the line there. He certainly did his job for the higher ups, or he was daft. I don't think he was daft, but he was certainly no intellectual either. Anyhow, RIP, if you can, Tim Russert. "

I do think we will see more inflation as the years come. Maybe time to invest in a farm/or a good chunk of land that can be farmed. Then use the 401 to buy a cow. That is if there will even be a 401 available by then.
Our electric company has put in for a 10% increase in NOV. it will take that long for the "heads" to decide if they will pass it.
To me 11.00 extra a month isnt too bad, but to seniors it will be another nail in their coffin.
I believe we will be seeing more parents living with their kids.. "

Anyone see Jack Cafferty on impeachment recently? Check out the video here:

I'm convinced that Randi Rhodes is correct in that the reason Dems do not want to push impeachment is because they themselves are complicit. No, Chris, it is NOT because none of the articles would stand up - the evidence is so overwhelming it boggles the mind. "

The Conservatives have already ruined the country just fine, thank you. Ain't nuthin Obama can do but bring us UP!!!!
All McSame will do is grease the slide that we're currently hurtling on down to hell!
I swear, you're like the guy warning people that the life boats are leaky while the Titanic is sinking! Or maybe the RNC, complaining today about the "declining moral climate" of the country!--yeah; that's right--you remember them, the "Larry Craig/Rev Ted Haggerty/ Newt Gingrich/Tom Delay/Dick Cheney/Bush/Gonzales party!
OH THE DELICIOUS HYPOCRISY!!!!

I almost have to laugh at how conspiratorial your outlook on the rest of the world is, if it wasn't so lamentable. You haven't really been outside the US have you? These people, these countries, are JUST AS SICK of war, and of "Terror" and hostility as I am, as indeed, WE are!
If there's one thing I think they see in Obama, it's that they miss the USA having the moral authority it used to have before the criminal neocon regime.
Lets look at McCain's alleged "qualifications" based upon his service. He went to Viet Nam. He DID NOT foight on the ground. He got shot down and captured. He was tortured, physically and mentally, FOR FIVE YEARS!!! He also attempted suicide!!! HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH POST TRAUMATIC STRESS SYNDROME!!
I wouldn't hire this guy to be a janitor at the local high school, much less put him in charge of the most powerful military in the world!! SHEESH!
Now c'mon--honestly--can't you see this guy's psychological profile as being extremely suspicious, and prone to rash, impulsive, angry decision? You don't think this guy would get in office and need to re-assert his damaged masculinity and manhood in the eyes of his captors?
Besides that--he's TOO DAMNED OLD. He confuses something important like, every other day! "

" Retired General Wesley Clark just said of John McCain:
""The truth is that, in national security terms, he's largely untested and untried. He's never been responsible for policy formulation. He's never had leadership in a crisis, or in anything larger than his own element on an aircraft carrier or [in managing] his own congressional staff. It's not clear that this is going to be the strong suit that he thinks it is." I'm glad Obomba has been tested and tried. "

Me? I could barely get through Catholic school without having my teeth busted out by the Dean, or nearly assaulting a nun--I was always the rebel, ALWAYS! I'm NO GOOD With authority figures telling me what they think I should do, and I don't stand for people ordering me around; I would wind up in the brig for sure if I ever got drafted.
It's not a case of being "jealous"; to quote my hero, Clint "A man's got to know his limitations"--and "taking orders" is mine.
Also, "playing with little army men" has been very lucrative for me--I've been writing articles on my techniques which I use to realistically finish my models and made nearly $1,000 last year selling them to modeling publications and was actually published for my first time this January. I will also be published this November. I've made $750.00 extra dollars this year alone writing articles about "little plastic army men".
From what I've heard on the forums that I visit, "playing around on the real things" ain't much fun--lots of boredom and maintenance. Not my cup of tea, sorry.
But I do respect your vocation for your service--I just wish it didn't turn you into such a hawk. "

Resume aside, though, Clark also took issue with the Arizona Republican's instincts on national security. "McCain's weakness is that he's always been for the use of force, force and more force. In my experience, the only time to use force is as a last resort. ... When he talks about throwing Russia out of the G8 and makes ditties about bombing Iran, he betrays a disrespect for the office of the presidency."

Right now, with the Democrats in charge, global investors realize that Congress will never allow the United States to develop its own energy reserves. With a Democratic President it would be even worse. If the Democrats stop their obstruction of drilling, that would immediately put downward pressure on such speculation in the oil futures markets.
If the Democrats go after NYMEX, then oil speculators will move the futures markets overseas to a more friendly economic host, such as Dubai. We must address the fundamentals of supply and demand, instead of blocking every chance we get to create jobs and wealth in America through domestic production. "

Look, just because you had no other options in life and decided to run to the military to have some semblance of opportunity in your future doesn't mean that you should insult the guys--YOUR FORMER BROTHERS-IN-ARMS, I remind you--who build models. Imagine what they would say if I told them your name and asked if any of them served with you, and told them you were slagging on them? Hmm?
For your information, Captain Never-Admit-What'S-Obvious, it happens to be a great source of peace and relief for a lot of these guys. A lot of them even have built models of their Hummvee's, or tanks, in memoriam to their friends who have died.
YOu know--it just hit me--you're no better than John McCain--you yourself have served, but you don't give a damn about your fellow brothers who watched YOUR back; you'd rather insult them while pumping yourself up as some dubious hero.
