Tom McNabb was all wrong as far as the criticism he was giving of some of the contracts that were awarded.
Thank you again to The Citizen for what they're doing with this morning paper. But what an oppportunity it would be for The Citizen to change some things, like getting rid of the three liberal extremists that write columns on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and get rid of that nonsense on Sunday.
The paper doesn't tell us how Mike Quill is publicly saying that he wants to cut and save the taxpayers, but he's working hard to get more firemen, vice-chiefs or whatever you call it.
I wish The Citizen could find a way to balance off the despicable letters by Murray Lynch and Pamela Anderegg that appear so often that are just letters that hate America.
Why is the media so giddy about the mediocre accomplishment of this run-of-the-mill pitcher, Joba Chamberlain of the Yankees, while the media totally ignores unbelievable accomplishments by Texas's Josh Hamilton?

Ex-military but dont want to return then most likely they are NAtional Guard-at which they VOLUNTEERED to sign up for after they were discharged-knowing full well there is a chance of war at any given time. They also most likely re-signed to keep some military bennys-such as medical and pension.
As for the contractor-he too makes his own choices to put his life on the line to make ALOT of TAX free money.
Now go ask a fireman is he really wants a fire?
Or ask a cop if he really wants to be in a shootout?
or in simple terms go ask your parents how many times they really wanted to leave their kids with a sitter but they needed to ?? "

As for me, because I’m preemptively being defined as a racist (since I most certainly won’t vote for Obama), I’ve decided to step up to the plate and embrace that definition. From here on in, I’ve got my mantra.
When I vote against Obama on November 4, 2008:
It won’t be because Obama wants to withdraw from Iraq, which I think will weaken America’s interests beyond repair, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama thinks that a nuclear Iran is no threat to the Western World, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because I think it’s an incredibly stupid idea for the most powerful nation in the world to approach evil totalitarian dictators as a supplicant, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because I hate the idea of a President who will subordinate America’s interests to the UN (as he inevitably will), it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama has the thinnest resume ever in the history of Presidential candidates, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because I think Obama’s Leftist connections (Ayres, Dohrn, Soros, Pfleger, Wright, etc.) show him to be either stupid about or complicit with an agenda antithetical to basic American values, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama consistently chooses as advisers people who have opted for the wrong side in the completely binary debate about Israel’s right to exist, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama wants to socialize American medicine, which I believe will destroy the high quality of medical care available to most Americans, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama wants to gut the military and reduce us to a nation with a big target painted on our collective backside, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama wants to gut the Second Amendment and destroy Americans’ Constitutional right to protect themselves from foreign and domestic enemies, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama has already announced loud and clear that he will support activist judges who place their “feelings” above the law, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama supports judicial decisions creating a right to gay marriage, when I think that decision is one for the voters, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s announced that he will dramatically increase taxes, putting the slow, inflexible, ill-informed government in charge of what should be a quick-reacting, knowledgeable marketplace, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s record in the Senate (albeit short and undistinguished) has been so liberal he makes Teddy Kennedy look like a reactionary, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s an open-borders kind of guy, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama has shown himself to be a scarily slow thinker and speaker when released from the teleprompter (which really doesn’t bode well for those cozy private chats with Ahmadinejad, Jong-Il, and Assad), it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s wife clearly loathes America and everything it stands for, despite the fact that she’s done pretty well out of it, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama was affiliated for more than 20 years with a church that preached white hatred and began to care only when it looked as if it would affect his campaign, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama was good buddies with Tony Rezko, and other sleazy characters (showing again that Obama was complicit or a singularly bad judgment of character), it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s a compulsive liar who clearly thinks we in the public are too stupid to catch up with his lies, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s campaign has proven to be fly-paper for every two bit troofer and anti-Semite in America, it will be because I’m a racist.
It won’t be because Obama’s promised already to start down the totalitarian path of purging his predecessors through criminal prosecutions, it will be because I’m a racist.
All things considered, when I think about being a racist as I’ve defined it, not as they have, let me say it loud and let me say it proud: I am a racist — and, on November 4, 2008, this racist is not voting for Obama. "

Here is the context of what Sargent Karl was talking about:
Matt Lauer asked about the surge strategy in Iraq: "If it's working Senator, do you now have a better estimate of when American forces can come home from Iraq?"
McCain replied: "No, but that's not too important. What's important is the casualties in Iraq, Americans are in South Korea, Americans are in Japan, American troops are in Germany. That's all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw. General [David] Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are.
"But the key to it is that we don't want any more Americans in harm's way. That way, they will be safe, and serve our country and come home with honor and victory, not in defeat, which is what Senator Obama's proposal would have done. I'm proud of them. And they're doing a great job. And we are succeeding and it's fascinating that Senator Obama still doesn't realize that."
McCain's concern is to ensure the safety of the troops--an objective that is far more important than any specific timetable for withdrawal. "

And some more wisdom from the Democrats (I think that they are purposefully trying to drive us into a full blown recession):
Democrats Block Attempt to Open Up Offshore Drilling Fifty+ Miles Off Coast
A House subcommittee on Wednesday rejected a Republican-led effort to open up more U.S. coastal waters to oil exploration.
Rep. John Peterson, R-Pa., spearheaded the effort. His proposal would open up U.S. waters between 50 and 200 miles off shore for drilling. The first 50 miles off shore would be left alone.
But the plan failed Wednesday on a 9-6, party-line vote in a House appropriations subcommittee, which was considering the proposal as part of an Interior Department spending package.
...
Most offshore oil production and exploration has been banned since a federal law passed in 1981.
"We are kidding ourselves if we think we can drill our way out of these problems," House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey, D-Wis., said during the bill mark-up session.
For his part, Peterson said: "There is no valid reason for Congress to keep the country from energy resources it needs."
"I'm disappointed. I did not expect a partisan vote today. I felt we had a chance of winning this. A lot of Democrats have been talking favorably about my amendment. They know we have to do something. But today was an absolute show of Pelosi power, it was dealt from the top down," Peterson said later, speaking with FOX News, adding he was open to other energy solutions, including wind and solar power.
According to Peterson's office, the U.S. Minerals Management Service estimates that 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas can be found along the U.S. outer continental shelf, the area affected by the ban.
...
"Tapping America's huge reserve of deep ocean energy helps us fight terrorism and increases our domestic energy supply, which will help put downward pressure on gasoline prices," Greg Schnacke, President of Americans for American Energy, said in a news release, adding: "With Americans suffering at the gas pump and with higher energy bills, it's a no-brainer that the OCS should be developed." I know MANY Germans, French, and Czechs who have said that they have NO INTEREST in coming to the United States whatsoever.
I know this because, being the politically-minded, inquisitive person that I am, I have brought the subject up regularly with friends, business associates, and plain old fans.
Countries where people WOULD come from?--Turkey, Brasil, Bulgaria--but the verdict is NOT "unanimous". by ANY means. And there is NOT a lot of envy either for the American war, politics, diet, nor medical system, in our similarly-developed European cousins.
Seriously, my information comes first-hand--not from the opinion pages of some dodgy Conservative monthly mailing of Faux News talking heads.
And I have news for you---they didn't have to do ANYTHING whatsoever to "bring us down" or "ruin our reputation"--we did that to ourSELVES, with our president, VP, and our reckless nationalism and religious arrogance. The USA's ambassadors these last few years in important positions like dealing with bodies that delegate monies for AIDs funds and World Family Planning Centers and Humanitarian Aid had been replaced by Bush. He appointed a lot of arrogant, pushy religious ideologues. In many cases, other countries' ambassadors/delegates walked out of important meetings because these religious nuts would NOT release aid or monies to countries for instance, which provided birth control measures to their Poor. Now, that is in an effort to stop both overpopulation and disease--two epidemic problems in underdeveloped, under-nourished areas of the world. THEY wanted "Abstinence" pledges, believe it or not!! In one case, some countries actually REFUSED the ridiculous conditions AND the monies, and took up collections from other European countries to make up the deficit, telling the USA ambassadors basically to take our monies and shove 'em!
Situations like this, combined with the War, and other issues, have made us "the B!tch" that a LOT of countries have NO INTEREST in bedding! "

This race is about leadership, and which candidate will crack down on fraudulent lenders and bring real relief to Americans struggling in the grip of the housing crisis," said Obama.
REP's:
"It takes a lot of nerve for Obama to stand before voters, speak to the rising costs hurting families, attack his opponent on the housing crisis, and completely ignore the fact that both he (Obama &Rezko) and his campaign leadership (Johnson) have enjoyed housing deals that no average North Carolinian would be able to access." You would think that with all the Bush haters, they would have come up with something that would stick. Waxman got anything? Nope. Jay Rockefeller? Nope. Anybody have anything concrete in the legal sense? Nope.
What do we have is a bunch of whiney liberals that are ticked off that the sane don't follow or believe in their pc, surrender monkey mentality.
Good luck with the whole impeachment thing. "

It's what we USED TO HAVE in this country's highest offices until Bush got into office and politicized the Justice Department to work only for him and his fellow crooks!

More BS of "he said/she said" "
No it is not BS. It's all fact based, but you are so brainwashed that you can't separate truth from lies. Fox sure has done a number on you and CVCoulter.
Good one Chris, did you come up with that all by yourself or did you steal it from Laura Ingraham? Since you never come up with anything original to say, I would put my bet on Ingraham coming up with that nonsense. While she is almost always wrong about everything, she does have a way with words. "

The original House version:
* Southern Democrats: 7-87 (7%-93%)
* Southern Republicans: 0-10 (0%-100%)
* Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%-6%)
* Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%-15%)
The Senate version:
* Southern Democrats: 1-20 (5%-95%) (only Senator Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
* Southern Republicans: 0-1 (0%-100%) (this was Senator John Tower of Texas)
* Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%-2%) (only Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia opposed the measure)
* Northern Republicans: 27-5 (84%-16%)
From a percentage standpoint, fewer Democrats opposed than Republicans. And this was more a geopolitical vote than partisan anyway, if you look at it from a South/North perspective.
But when have the facts ever gotten in your way? "
