A two-car fender bender on Lake Avenue and Osborne Street in Auburn resulted in two arrests Monday night, police said.
The incident took place at approximately 10:41 p.m. Edward Lukowski III, 47, was stopped at the light on Lake Avenue, and then rolled through the intersection, hitting the vehicle driven by Peter J. Day, 39, as he was turning on to Lake Avenue, the Auburn Police Department said. Day then exited his vehicle and pulled Lukowski from his car and assaulted him at the scene. Lukowski was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not available Monday morning.

Day was charged with third-degree assault. Lukowski was charged with DWI.

" Mr. Lukowski should feel fortunate that he did not kill anyone. Mr. Day was probably acting out of emotion to find the driver of the car that hit him was intoxicated. No telling what I would have done if he (lukowski) had hit my vehicle with my wife and kids in tow. I think that I would have dragged him from the car too, to inflict some justice if I were in a certain state of mind. I am extremely passionate about the well being of my family. "

" If this is the same Peter Day I'm thinking of, I'm not surprised.

But what I really want to know is how this happened Monday night, but "Lukowski was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not available Monday morning". Wierd. "
