Auburn's problems will never get fixed

The city of Auburn should start sending a gas card or coupon to all drivers in the city that live and pay taxes in the city due to the fact that you have to stop at a traffic light that's red every five seconds.
It is not a new thing, this has been going on for years. People have complained about it and nothing ever gets done about it.

State Street is a good example as you can't drive north on State and get every green light to make it smooth traveling. Instead you get a green at Seymour and State, then the light turns red at Cottage Street, then red at Perrine Street, and every time you have to stop and go, do you know how much that ruins your miles per gallon rate? It brings it down significantly.

No one in city management cares, we all know that. Pay attention as you drive and see how many traffic jams this small city gets every day due to the poor timing of the traffic lights.

I could go on about pot holes that never get fixed, leaves and brush that sit around for months because the city won't pick them up, and trees they don't cut down (that the city owns and are dead), and the owner has waited four years to have it done and it still is not done. And wasted money on things that are stupid, like the Connector Road from Genesee to State through the State Street Mall that cost $1 million.

And speeding cars and motorcycles in residential neighborhoods where kids are playing and the police never seem to be around.

I'm not going to go on because nothing will get done and no one will listen anyway. Just keep paying those taxes for all the services that this awesome city has. I'm moving on.

" Boy the lights really are bothersome around here, and it doesnt take that much to change the timing on them does it?? I think the city would have less red light runners if the lights cooperated with each other. State St is a perfect example of thoughtless timing of lights. It is impossible to get down State St. without stopping at least twice, most often at every light! and why cant you cross over both lanes of 5&20 with green lights? Because they are not timed either!! Make one and the next one gets you, backing traffic up to Dill St. Our taxes pay these idiots why cant they fix these lights?? "

" My son lives in Pulaski (up in the snow belt), and one of the biggest things he complains about when he's here is the terrible conditions the roads are in. He says that the roads up there are in much better condition. You think it would be the opposite. That makes me wonder too.... "

" Could not AGREE MORE about these damned, stupid lights, James!
Boy, THANK GOD the Citizen removed the "Two Cents" section from print, otherwise the city council might have to look at irate comments from people who agree with you, huh? "
