Recently I inquired the status of my federal income taxes (not stimulus); I filed via E-File. Much to my surprise, the IRS did not have record of my filing and gave me an 800 number to call.
I phoned it, spoke with someone who had 85 percent English; I told him that I was an illiterate on computer, and needed help.
Much to my surprise, while having small talk with him, I asked where he was from: India!
That certainly stunned me, that my tax information is in the country of India. Furthermore, I asked “how much are you paying for gas?”
He replied: $1.10 . He then informed me: Saudi Arabia pays only 65 cents! Iran: 35 cents. What's wrong with that picture?
He had a vision of the United States being so prosperous and wealthy. Well, I informed him of how many people are living; there are many without food and gas to put into their cars to get to work; and fuel to heat our home. There are people living on the streets. Not everyone is wealthy here, and we are suffering, too. We need jobs, and now jobs are sent to places like India, (even though I mentioned, it was nice for him to have employment.) But there are many people here that are unemployed.
Obviously, I would never have known, and now want to share with the many people, what happens with your tax money, messages, information goes worldwide.
He replied, “it's our government's control.” Well, where are the people in our great government, that are helping get through this oil crisis. Big time profits, while families suffer.

At the same time, it's the corporations, (largely Republican-leaning) that are the first to move production abroad, along with jobs which used to support American workers. They are more than happy to exploit underpaid foreign laborers while stealing jobs away from American workers -- at the same time, they'll be the first blaming Americans who buy foreign-produced goods as anti-American!
Tossing all 535 isn't enough unless we put in place methods to prevent corporate interests from owning our lawmakers -- otherwise we'll just get another 535 who are equally controlled by interests which are contrary to yours and mine and the rest of the working population of this country.
I've said this before, but it is worth repeating repeatedly: It's time to reverse the Supreme Court's interpretation of the Constitution to extend natural human rights to corporations, a interpretation which has subsequently been twisted and perverted even further such that the precent law favors corporate "human" rights of the rights of natural living persons.
Take away that obscene prop, and everything changes.
Now there's CHANGE I could get behind.... "

Ahhh! "America the Great" Yup--the "greatest nation in the world.
Soon to be the BIGGEST Third World country in the world.
Osama Bin Laden has won. Plain and simple. He's "defeated" the United States. By keeping George Bush in office, ol' Osama didn't even have to lift another finger to bring America down from within, by keeping the worst president in the history of our nation in power.
Come to think of it, even Krushchev said it--"It will not be the Soviet Union who brings America's fall; you will do it to yourselves, it will come form within!"
HOW TRUE!!!! "

And there should be penalties and disincentives for U.S. corporations who move production abroad. "
