State police are asking for the public's help as they investigate a reported purse theft at the Port Byron rest stop on the state Thruway.
Troopers said a 19-year-old Rochester woman reported that a man grabbed her purse while she was sitting outside the building around 9:30 p.m. Friday. He then fled in a small, dark-colored four-door vehicle. The purse is medium sized and blue, containing car keys, a black leather wallet with $80, an E.S.L. debit card and driver's license.

Any one with information is asked to call the state police, Junius Ponds, at 315-539-9125 or 315-437-2831.
