A former Dickman Farms bookkeeper pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing more than $15,000 from her employer and then fixing the books to hide the theft.

Susan D. Farrington, 44, of 141 Willowbrook Drive, Auburn, is expected to receive three years shock probation with two months in the Cayuga County Jail when she is sentenced on July 15 for the two misdemeanor crimes of grand larceny and falsifying business records. Farrington originally faced felony charges but was given a chance under former District Attorney James B. Vargason to reduce those charges if she paid back the full restitution of $18,147. Current Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann said he agreed to honor the agreement but wanted Farrington to plead guilty to two misdemeanors. If Farrington violates her probation she could face up to a year in prison for each charge, Budelmann said.
