Older generation had it better than we do

Auburn management's streamline schedule is a failure.
Thanks for passing more and more “cost” saving ideas that turn out to be duds!

For instance: garbage collection. These garbage collectors now have every reason in the world to NOT do their jobs, and the Auburn management set forth, in their ignorance, set up rules/guidelines/regulations so these collectors don't have to do anything. The collectors stroll up and down the streets, and pick and choose what they want to do, and the managers are authorizing them to do this! The streets get left with garbage, junk, and lots and lots of yard waste. The yard waste on the east and south side streets has been there for over a month!

You call them and e-mail them, but get nowhere. They just don't want to work! What are we paying them for? This was all part of their new streamline schedule, as they are SO proud of, that all it really has allowed them to do is so much less, and even charge you to take your garbage to the dump. They will charge you to go to the garbage dump and drop off the garbage that they were too lazy/indifferent to pick up in the first place! Isn't this double charging for service we are paying for with our taxes, and besides, we're helping them do their jobs that they are falling way short in doing.

The population is dropping, yet we're paying more than ever for shoddy service. The older generation got their “cake” and now their dumping on the younger generation every day with new rules/guidelines/regulations, etc. The older generation definitely know how to abuse their children, and boy don't we feel it every day!

Thank you grandma and grandpa ... you're all heart.

" If you are properly placing your trash on the curb in a bag and in a can with a cover, then what is the problem? If you are throwing a flimsy bag on the ground for the animals to tear open and the trash is all over the place then it is your responsibilty to clean it up not the garbageman. Your gramps should have taught you to accept your own responsibility. "
