The manhunt for the suspect in Thursday's assault and robbery incident concluded Tuesday morning when the Auburn Police Department arrested Derek Lee Cayirliogullari, 18, of 4 Vandenbosch Ave, Auburn, the APD reported.
Cayirliogullari was the second suspect who police said attacked and robbed a 16-year-old victim on Washington Street at 7:17 p.m. Thursday.
The victim was treated and released from Auburn Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.
The second suspect, James Tyrell Brown, 20, of 81 Owasco St., Auburn, was arrested last Friday when police spotted him walking down Owasco Street.
The victim was able to identify Cayirliogullari and Brown as his alleged attackers and told police the two men fled the scene in a vehicle, the APD said.
Warrants were issued for arrests after their get-away vehicle was found abandoned in the nearby area. Both men have been charged and arraigned with second-degree robbery and third-degree assault.
