LAKE GEORGE -- Police say a boat speeding through a Lake George bay ran up on rocks and flew onto a small island, where it lodged in a stand of trees.
Warren County Sheriff's deputies say two people were hurt when the 29-foot Cobalt passed a danger buoy in Harris Bay and ended up on the westernmost of the Happy Family Islands at about 11 p.m. Sunday.
They charged 45-year-old Cheryl Smith of Queensbury with boating while intoxicated, reckless operation of a vessel and exceeding the 5 mph speed limit. Smith and her husband, 47-year-old Kent Smith, were both treated at Glens Falls Hospital and released. Two other passengers in the boat were not injured.
