SYRACUSE - A former Skaneateles High School teacher will spend six months in a county jail for having sex with a student.

William Milham also will spend 10 years on probation. The 37-year-old Milham pleaded guilty in March to committing a felony sex act. He admitted having a 15-year-old female student perform oral sex on him in October 2002.

Authorities say Milham had an improper sexual relationship with the girl for several years while he was a social studies teacher at Skaneateles High School.

As part of a plea deal, Milham is also surrendering his state teaching certificate. He had been suspended with pay after his arrest, and then resigned after pleading guilty.
