A three-vehicle accident took place in Elbridge on state Route 5 just west of the Hamilton Road intersection at 2:55 p.m. Thursday.
The driver of a 1999 Mazda pickup heading east slowed down when he saw a tractor trailer waiting to turn into Tessy Plastics, and a 2007 Saturn following the pickup also slowed down.
A third vehicle, also a pickup, rear-ended the Saturn, which veered off into a ditch.
Michael Austin, of Auburn, drove the first vehicle, while Melanie Daman, of Syracuse, was the driver of the Saturn.
The third vehicle was driven by Amanda Vitagliano, of Jordan.
Daman, complaining of back pain, was transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital. According to state police in Elbridge, she was doing well.
