Volunteers from Welch Allyn installed a new playground piece at Neighborhood House in Auburn on May 9 and 10. Volunteer coordinator Ginny Stehle lined up team leader Jeff Handley and volunteers Scott Buell, Jerry Wickett, Don Lynch and Craig Proietti. The team worked for several hours Friday evening and all day Saturday to install the new playground. When the children arrived at Neighborhood House Monday, they were delighted to discover what the workers had created.

Craig Proietti, left, and Jeff Handley, of Welch Allyn, volunteer their time to assemble a playground set at the Neighborhood House on Saturday afternoon, May 10.
“We are very grateful that guys - without any connection to our center - volunteered to install the playground,” said Neighborhood House director Sue Jones. “Our budget is very tight, and we will use the funds we would have had to pay for the playground installation for classroom and other equipment for the children to enjoy.”

The new piece is the largest one on the Neighborhood House playground with three slides, two climbing poles, a bridge and other components.

The Allyn Foundation donated the funds to purchase the new playground piece.
