The Skaneateles boys golf team won the Section III, Class B title at Cannon Valley Golf Course in Oneida Monday for the second year in a row.
Not even the unseasonably cold weather could stop the Lakers, who racked up their 43rd straight overall win (40th in league play). Skaneateles finished the season 15-0.
Leading the Lakers were Jeff Baldetti, who was the co-medalist for the match, scoring a 78. Eric Edmunds carded an 80, Brian Stokes-Cawley shot an 83 and Jake Stith finished with 85.
“It feels pretty good with two freshman and a sophomore leading the way,” Lakers head coach John Quijano said.
“They have really matured a lot as a team over the last year and it paid off this year.”
The Lakers will now play in the state qualifiers at Seven Oakes Golf Course in Colgate Saturday.
