I want to take this opportunity to personally congratulate and thank all the members of the Upstate New York Safety Coalition Task Force, a grassroots organization that came together to stop tractor trailers from hauling garbage and hazardous waste through local towns and villages.
It was their hard work, dedication, and unyielding commitment to this issue that led to the governor's announcement on Monday in Skaneateles.
After numerous meetings with local and state officials this announcement provided a long sought after victory for not only the coalition, but for all upstate communities.
Again, thank you to all the members of the Upstate Coalition for the significant role you have played in the betterment of our community and for illustrating the importance and effectiveness of grassroots organizations.
