A former Boy Scout volunteer pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court Tuesday morning to sexually abusing two young scout members.
Charles H. Seamans, 46, of 26 Evergreen Lane, Weedsport, a former assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scout's Cayuga County Council, pleaded guilty to two counts of felony sexual abuse and two counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse after a Cayuga County Sheriff's Office investigation revealed Seamans had sexual contact with a 10-year-old and a 14-year-old boy on February 1, 2007.
Seamans hung his head low as he quietly admitted to the four counts of sexual abuse that he was charged with.
Seamans may be sentenced to as much as 7 years in prison, and County Judge Mark Fandrich said that in addition to the prison time, he could sentence Seamans to 3 to 10 years of post-release supervision.
Fandrich will make a final decision on the punishment when Seamans is sentenced on July 15.
