  • Marriage licenses should have more scrutiny, merit
    Peter Kotzer's proposal to increase marriages was a good starting point. Marriages are a lifetime commitment involving the spending of close to a million dollars when children are born and raised.

  • Eisenhower was on track about the federal budget
    More than 50 years ago, President Eisenhower observed that if we balanced the federal budget, did not import more than we exported, met our balance of payments, and thus avoided inflation, his administration could do more for the average American workers than all the expensive social welfare programs Congress could think of.

  • Writer should have more respect for grieving family
    As I read The Citizen, I came across some distracting news about a young girl's remains found. Although I did not know this young girl personally, her mother was my son's second grade teacher, and is now my daughter's teacher. I found that the news writer of this article has absolutely “no” respect for this young girl and her family simply because this person had to make a statement as to who this girl was associated with (an escort service.)
