AUBURN - Deven Gary couldn't have fathomed the amount of money it takes to run Auburn Enlarged City School District.

Throughout the year, students in the Cayuga-Onondaga Board of Cooperative Educational Services New Visions Teacher Education program learned about - what else? - being a teacher. But not one of the six students sitting in their classroom at Seward Elementary School knew what it takes to keep the Auburn district going.

That is until they heard from Auburn Superintendent Joseph D. “J.D.” Pabis on Monday.
