Jordan-Elbridge second baseman Mike Ryan makes the catch at second base as Skaneateles baserunner Justin Mehile slides in safely during a game in Elbridge Monday afternoon.
“Zack threw strikes today, which was key for us,” Lakers coach Tom Warner said.

Devlen Murphey had two hits for the Lakers while also stealing two bases and scoring two runs.

Skaneateles' Phil Weiss started things off in the first inning with bases-clearing triple. Augustine had a walk, double and an RBI and on the mound he allowed three hits, struck out three and walked one.

“He pitched pretty well for them,” Jordan-Elbridge coach Mike Osborn said. “He didn't overpower us though, but his defense played well behind him.”

Mike Ryan, Colby Auer and Holbrook had the lone hits for the Eagles (2-11). Alex Fletcher had two RBIs. Ryan and Holbrook scored a run each while Auer had an RBI.

“We need to work on our hitting to be successful,” Osborn said. “We have only two guys that are batting over .300 on the team. That has to change for us.”
