The Cayuga County Healthy Men & Women Partnership would like to thank the many businesses, agencies and volunteers whose donations of time, services and goods made our recent “Spring Into Good Health” cancer-screening event so successful.
Their involvement and support made it possible for 37 underinsured men and women to receive essential health screening tests and information they would not have otherwise.
The fifth annual “Spring Into Good Health” program was a reality because of the caring spirit and generous contributions of: Booker T. Washington Community Center, The American Cancer Society's Jason Warchal, Margaret Deneve, and Nancy Rifanburg; AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, William Foresman MD, Deborah Geer MD, Carol Cambareri NP, Jon Lesch DC, Lisa Ann Homic DC, Denise Thurston of LifeScan, Diabetes Care Division of Johnson & Johnson Inc., Anne McCarthy of the Cayuga County Tobacco-Free Partnership, Suzanne Hai from the CNY Diabetes Prevention Partnership, Cayuga County Health Department's Susan Frank RN, Niann Ortquist RN and Deanna Hoey; Cornell Cooperative Extension's Becky Johnson, Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES nursing students, Gary Mann of the American Red Cross, Barbara Bowen, Cayuga County Human Services Coalition; NY State EPIC staff; Sharon Grimes, Nature's Sunshine; Dana Mandel, Harry and Megan Lull, Mary Lynch, Roy Wilson Jr. and Jack Burns.
Special thanks are also due The Citizen for their excellent coverage of the event, and members of the Healthy Men & Women Partnership Coalition for their assistance with planning and publicity for this project.
It is this kind of support from our community that allows us to improve access to medical care and reduce the burden of breast, cervical, colon and prostate cancer in Cayuga County!
