Central New York musician Kathy Ziegler will put on her final performance this side of the Atlantic at the Morgan Opera House on Saturday.
Ziegler, a songwriter, singer and keyboardist, will be packing up her children and moving with her Dutch husband from Ithaca to the Netherlands.

According to a press release, Ziegler will be singing, playing piano and doing a bit of guitar work at Saturday's performance, and she will be joined by Mary Lorson on vocals, Billy Cote on electric guitar and A.J. Strauss on stand up bass, vocals and trumpet.

Ziegler has been making her living as a full-time touring musician for the past 15 years.

Ziegler's first album was released in 2001. The first song on the debut, “Sweet,” won the 2003 International Songwriting competition. Her sophomore effort, “Don't Worry, The Danger,” was independently released in the spring of 2004.

“Her voice is described as having a breathy, smoky quality,” according to a Morgan Opera House press release. “She sings of powerful and sometimes dark events in life but ends the songs with upbeat affirmation.”

In her online bio at www.kathyziegler.com, Ziegler adds, “I love to play music, and I do it as often as I can.”
