Fort Bragg soldiers deserve better conditions

Thursday, May 8, 2008 12:01 PM EDT

The living conditions of the soldiers of Fort Bragg are unconscionable. They have human filth in their showers.
If these condition were in a prison, the people would be up in arms. But it's American soldiers that risk life and limb for our freedom so no one cares.

It doesn't say much for us, as a people, allowing our soldiers to live in such conditions.

" Thanks Karl.

Another way they "support" the troops, is by cutting their benefits. I'd hate to see how things would be if they did not support the troops! "

" AJ-- you nailed it with the "support the Troops" comment! SO TRUE!!!!! "

" I've seen a video of the barracks Brew - the buildings are way substandard, pose a serious health problem, and are poorly maintained if at all. It's not a result of the troops not cleaning up after themselves. "

" Excuse my ignorance, but don't the troops stationed at a fort maintain and clean their own barracks? Isn't the filth and poor conditions their fault? Or does the modern Armed Forces have janitor and maid service? "

" And it certainly isn't your tax dollars going to correct the situation either.

It is a pathetic example of just how the politicians talk out of both sides of their mouths. Support for the troops? What support would that be? "

" I am just confused how this is our fault? It isn't my human filth in the showers. I feel bad that they have those conditions, but how is it our fault? "
