With 12 strikeouts, two walks, allowing five hits, Eric Conway led the Auburn baseball team to a big win over Utica Proctor 5-4 Tuesday.
“He pitched a masterful game today,” Maroons coach T.J. Gamba said.
Ed Charles had an RBI single, and Tim Locastro went 2-for-3 while scoring a run for the first-place Maroons. Ryan LaRue had one of the Maroons ‘six hits. Bob Buckley had an RBI single, scoring Noah Donch from first. Donch scored one other time, walked twice and belting a double.
“It was a pitcher's duel today,” Gamba said. “It came down to who made the mistakes.”
The Maroons made some errors, but with the help of the arms, they were able to hold on for the win.
The Raiders also made three errors.
