Oil has risen to $122 a barrel. In 1991 a little thing came along called Desert Storm.
It seems to me we spent lives and treasures to liberate Kuwait and to stop a tyrant from invading Saudi Arabia.
This is the thanks we get for doing this and while I'm at it we have also liberated Iraq, and they share in the profits from the oil and I think it's about time they start to pay their own way.

Saddam's beef at the time was over slant drilling by Kuwait - a legitimate one at that. And he was essentially given the green light to do so by our ambassador April Gillaspie [sp?]. As it turned out the statements made by our ambassador to Saddam were a setup.
Saddam never postured to invade Saudi Arabia - that would have been suicidal.
Saddam was a tyrant no doubt - ours, as long as he didn't step out of line and go against the wishes of the US.
