A local woman was airlifted to Upstate Medical Hospital early Monday morning after she lost control of her car on Route 38 in Scipio, authorities said.
Tammy C. Stevens, of 4 Edge Water Point, Moravia, was traveling southbound at 1:02 a.m. when she drifted off the road and struck a guard rail with her 2008 Nissan Altima.

New York State Police said Stevens' car then became airborne and struck an earthen embankment 50 feet away before rolling several times into a tree.

Police said Stevens suffered a broken arm, a broken leg and possibly a fractured pelvis.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
