Jillian Thomas led the Union Springs softball team to an 11-1 championship win over Chester in the Mudville Tournament Saturday.
The Wolves defeated Indian River 8-4 in the first round on Saturday.
Thomas was named the MVP of the tournament as she struck out 18 batters in both games. Thomas sent 11 down on strikes in the first game.
Kelly Pinckney paced the Wolves' offense with three hits. Amanda Forney, Shelby Freligh and Meg Murray all had two hits in the first game.
Jaimi Jones hit a home run out of the park, scoring two -- the out of park homer was something only seven other players have ever done.
In the title game, Thomas again pitched a gem, only allowing two hits, while at the plate . she knocked in two RBIs.
Forney and Pickney both had two hits. Jones had three hits and two RBIs in the game as did Hannah Moniz.
Union Springs (10-4) travels to Groton Monday.
Bishop Grimes 5, Weedsport 2
Casey Sears led the Warriors with a 3-for-4 day, scoring one run and having a double.
Taylor Roe and Chelsea Stocker each had one hit apiece. Roe's was an RBI triple.
Weedsport (1-9 overall, 1-7 league) travels to Onondaga Monday.
Jordan-Elbridge 10, Christian Brothers Academy 0, five innings
Jenn Gasparek pitched a rain shortened no-hitter Friday.
The sophomore pitched the entire five innings, striking out three and walking one on a hit batter.
At the plate, she went 1-for-3 with one RBI and scoring one run.
Lindsy Geery walked once and scored once. Sarah Fordyce went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored two runs.
Elizabeth Caspari, Erika Peterson, Alicia Andrianos and Natalie Elking all recorded one hit.
Peterson had three RBIs and scored a run, while Andrianos had two RBIs and scored a run.
Caspari scored twice, while Elking scored once.
Fayetteville-Manlius 4, Auburn 3
Samantha Bruno picked up a two run triple and Kelly Grinnell had the only hits for the Maroons Friday.
Meghan Feocco and Shannon McCormick led an errorless defense. Losing pitcher Brittney Babcock tossed a six-hitter and struck out three.
“This was a very well played game between two well matched and talented teams,” Maroons coach Bob Lee said.
Auburn (7-6) hosts Corcoran Monday.
BASEBALL
Weedsport 9, Bishop Grimes 7
C.J. Chase and Gavin Johnston both led the Warriors as they went 3-for-4 at the plate, with Johnston having a double and an RBI.
Bryce Leitten and Josh Fatcheric both went 2-for-4 with a double and Leitten added two RBIs.
Justin Rose (2-0) was on the mound for the Warriors, pitching a complete game, allowing 11 hits, four earned runs and fanning two.
Weedsport (4-6) travels to Onondaga Monday.

Southern Cayuga 34, Sixth
Stephen Townsend came in first in the long jump (19-0.5) and third in the 100m (11.6) Friday.
Griffon Farlow took second in the 1600m (4:52.7) and Adam Mandel, Townsend, John Mosher and J.D. Tyrrell also finished second (47.4) in the 4x100m relay.
Ryan Barta took sixth in the 400m (56.8) and Mosher, Barta, Farlow and Joe Troy also came in sixth in the 4x400m relay (3:53.4).
Southern Cayuga hosts a dual with Moravia and Newfield Tuesday.

Miriam Larson-Koester won the discus for the Chiefs (107-2).
Mary Miller came in fifth in the 1500m (5:44.4) and Megan Lawrence finished sixth in the long jump (14-3.5).
Theresa Miller, Nicole Hoey, Emily Heslop and Lawrence also came in sixth in the 4x100m relay (55.4).
