There are some people who asked me to write about this. I've been trying to think of a nice way to ask.
So here it goes: The water rates are fine, but then when you look at your bill(s), the sewer rates in Auburn just keep going up and up, so why? Not only that older seniors whom live on a small income just can't afford it.
Then why is it when older pipes are being dug up, and new ones are put in, why are homeowners having to pay for them?
Are the pipes considered, “city, county homeowners,” or whose?
Don't you think, “Homeowners pay enough and businesses as well in taxes, etc. here in Auburn and surrounding areas?” I'm writing on behalf of a senior citizen homeowner in our city of Auburn.

Remedies, insist that the city reopen talks with the neighboring towns post-haste and equalize the rates out. Pay close attention to your water use. If you are filling swimming pools you may want to see if it more cost effective to have a hauler come in and fill for you. Sprinklers, whether recreational or for lawn watering, should be minimized. Even though the water is not technically entering your sewer, it is your water use that your bill is based on. Put in water saving faucet aerators and shower heads, turn off the water when brushing teeth, place a quart bottle filled with rocks, sand or water in your toilet tank to use less per flush (experiment with the size of the bottle, if you have to flush twice to clear the toilet it defeats the purpose), take shorter showers; anything to reduce the amount of water passing through your meter.
Another issue is that government spending is out of control and until we start voting down budgets and increases our officials are simply not going to get the message. The typical voter is not a bottomless money pit that can be drawn on every year. Concessions simply HAVE to be made by government and it’s employees.
