Collecting debt? Ask Bush where money is

Saturday, May 3, 2008 11:16 PM EDT

In our times of recent high priced gas, food, utilities and people having to pinch their pennies to get by.
Debt collectors are calling since people are falling behind on their bills, such as our family, I want to share my recent reply for everyone to know:

“Call George Bush,” I said.

She replied “What?”

“Call George Bush. He and all his greedy associates have my money.”

She laughed, and asked “How's that?”

I then said “Through money put in my gas tank/ heat for my home, taxes. George Bush has my money, and I have none,”

The person was all so kind, sent her compassion for our situation, got some humor from my comments, and just said to pay what I can, when I can.

" For someone who cares, you don't have a very good grasp of the facts. History obviously passed you by during the Reagan/Bush years and you never caught up, and that is critical to understanding todays politics. If you really care, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT! That is something FAUX NEWS is not going to help you with, or for that matter any of the corporate broadcast media.

Read some good books by others with opposing views - you NEED it.

" Brew I totally disagree that it's all FEDERAL. The wasteful spending starts with US! Then onto our schools and cities.
School alone could save so much money. Starting with the amount of papers I get daily and throw away.
One EXample is: yearbook flyer, followed up with 3 more. Another when they come out, followed by 3 more still on sale. ONE notice is enough! The follow up should be in the monthly newsletter!
BUT thats just one-add up the rest for book fair/school play/school chorus/school fundrisers--its endless all year long!!!!!! Plus the stacks of them on the office front desk!!
And they wonder why the copy machine breaks down so often?!!!!

do we need all the administrators? NO!
the facts are someone, unable to handle their job, needs an aide! Then add the ridiculas "consulting firms" needed?

Do we NEED or just WANT all the PORKS in our state budgets?

PLus I could go on all day about military/government wastes!

But it begins at home! "

" Actually AJ the first election I ever voted in was for Ross Perot! Skipped the next few and voted in the last election. AS I stated before I didnt care. But as I get older, I see I should have cared and NOW I need to care!
Years ago I never watched prices on gas, Car was empty I would fill it. Tomatoes could have been 3.00 lb, if I needed a tomato I just bought it. Reality is, they have it and you need it--you have no choice but to pay.(for gas & heat)
The only time I knew something was HIGH is because the elder family members mentioned it.
I think I tuned out groceries because I worked in a grocery store, after get yelled at all day about prices, I learned to ignore it.
The things I did price were vacations, major appliances, school items, things needed for the kids.
As time changes, I have changed.
So I am paying more attention to the issues.
PS. Ronald was a good man! Carter seemed afraid of his own shells! lol

" How can you not blame bushie and the federal government? For years the feds have asked the states to enact programs that they refuse to fund. Why do schools have so many administrators? Because of federally mandated programs that require tons of paperwork. For years federal aid for state and local programs has been cut or level funded to give tax breaks to the wealthy and the corporations. As the state's funds dry up, they pass cuts down to the cities and towns. The result is an increasing burden on local tax funds. As the local governing bodies try to raise needed funds they get the blame for increased taxes. Put the blame where it belongs. Ronny Raygun, bushie #1 and bushie #2. The country sinks into debt deeper and deeper and aid to towns and cities dries up and the wealthy and the corporations get tax breaks. "

" Ronald Raygun and the Rethuglicans were the idiots. His FIRST act was to remove the solar panels from the white house and GUT Carter's visionary energy policy, much to the delight of the oil companies.

I have no doubt who YOU voted for in that election, CM. "

" I have verizon with the Verizon Voice mail/call intercept..this feature is great for weeding out calls. The feature I like best is NO telemarketing calls-where I used to receive no less than 10 a day, even being on the No call list.

Its BS to blame Bush for financial woes, though it may be fine to start at the "top" but include the middle and bottom too. Your HOME taxes are YOUR COUNTY officials. Heat and fuel are not only oil companies, but also your neighbors who maybe be VOTING NO for other fuel alternatives (who WANTS a nuclear plant near their backyard?)
THEN blame yourself!

I remember clearly the gas issue in 1979-it was a mess driving to MD to pickup grandma and bring her to NY for graduation! We weren't even sure there would be a place to get gas to make it back home-an adventure for sure!
THEN, in seeing this occur, WE should have been more pro-active on issues concerning OUR USA FEUL. OUR imports and exports, OUR drillings at home, OUR BETTER fuel efficient cars/homes, OUR conservation!
WE IGNORED the future need!
SO here we are nearly 30 yrs later blaming someone else!
WE were the idiots!

AS for $$$$ ---WE need to be responsible for ourselves, WE have been told 10yrs ago about the SS system! How much do WE have saved for OUR retirement>I have ZERO saved! In this area, I admit, I am an idiot!

In 1979 I didn't care about GAS, in 1995 I didn't care about SS/retirement. BUT NOW in my 40's I am saying "what was I thinking" THESE and many other issues WERE/ARE important, I must get my head out of the clouds and DO SOMETHING!

With those thoughts-reality is, IT would take me years to change the "top" -so I have to begin my quest at the "bottom"--starting WITH ME!
How CAN I conserve, How CAN I save money, How CAN I VOTE!
