DELHI -- Authorities say a 22-year-old student stabbed at an upstate college last Sunday has died.
Tyshawn Bierria, of Queens, had been in critical condition at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Another student the State University College of Technology at Delhi and three others, all from New York City, were charged with gang assault and attempted murder on the campus 63 miles southwest of Albany.
Police identified them as student Jack Daniel Boampong, 19; William Dorsey Jr., 22; Raymond Brightman, 21; and Olanrewaju Ogunwuyi, 21.
Joel Smith, SUNY Delhi spokesman, told the Oneonta Daily Star that Boampong lived in a dormitory near Bierria's dorm. Officials said he was injured outside in an apparent brawl about 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
