The Weedsport boys track and field team remained undefeated as it beat Pulaski, 78-63, its toughest foe to date on Wednesday.
“We knew going into this that Pulaski was going to be our biggest hurdle,” Warriors head coach Roger Jordan said. “Beating them made us more confident about winning the league.”
The first-place Warriors now have a good chance to win the the Patriot National League.
“We would like to win the league and win the league meet against the other division this season,” Jordan said. “We are also hoping to win the Section III Class C Sectionals for the fifth year in a row.”
With a strong showing of four first-place finishes, the Warriors were led by Zach Nevidomsky who won the 110m hurdles (16.4), the long jump (19-7), the triple jump (39-3) and finished first in the high jump (6-2).
Also leading the Warriors was Jonathan Bos who recorded three first-place finishes.
Bos won the 400m (55.3), the 800m (2:10) and was a leg in the first-place 4x800m relay team with Andrew Smith, Zach Field and Zach Brown.
The other two winners for the Warriors were Michael Greer who won the 1600m (5:02) and the 3200m (11:00) while Dominic Galletta won the pole vault (10-6).
The Warriors (4-0) run at home against Bishop Grimes Wednesday.
