Fletcher has taught biology and physics at the Auburn Correctional Facility, worked as a program aide at the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Auburn and is a NAACP 2008 Millennium Award recipient.

Petitions filed by Muhammad and Fletcher are still being verified by the district.
