I can't believe it, but the Bowl A Thon is here and we have lots of teams participating. We have some great door prizes and auction prizes. Lynch's Furniture donated a side table with a golf theme.
We are already fighting over winning that one. And RJ Jewelers gave us a beautiful necklace for our auction.

We also have a variety of other gifts for door prizes and the auction. Amy Pedley has worked really hard along with her committee to make this a great event.

We have had some wonderful contributors towards the Bowl A Thon as well as towards foods and donations. Even if you aren't bowling, stop by Starlite Lanes and see all of the fun that is going on.

Steve Komanecky and I received six new cardio machines in the cardio room this week.

We have two new treadmills and two new elliptical trainers from Nautilus. The big new machine is the two step mills which we have added to our complete line. The step mill is along the lines of a revolving escalator with the steps going around on the inside of the machine and the participant continuously walking up the steps which are three in a row.

The intensity goes from 1 which is very easy, up to 20 which is like sprinting up the stairs.

A lot of people have been trying it out since we got it and we have gotten all good reports as far as whether people feel it is a good workout. Increasing our machines helps to give members a better opportunity to work out with lots of different machines which is one of the best ways to keep yourself in shape.

Do you know that we already have about 50 campers enrolled for camp this summer?

If you have a favorite time slot that you want to send your child to camp, you should register early in order to be sure that you can get in when you want to. The early enrollment fee ends on April 30 so that is another reason to get your registration in early.

With the rising cost of gas, this is a great way to make sure your child is entertained and cared for this summer. Camp Y-Owasco is located in a beautiful setting on Owasco Lake with lots of acreage to enjoy the outdoors.

Nancy Wesselmann, our Aquatics Director, is offering to rent out the pool for groups that are interested in giving swim lessons.

Right now she is having students from the Union Springs school district for Turn off the TV week and is also providing lessons for the Port Byron school district.

Be sure to contact Nancy if you are interested in providing swim lessons for your group. Everyone should be aware of water safety and know how to swim. We live in a community that has Owasco Lake as part of its features and we should all enjoy this wonderful commodity safely.

As spring progresses, we are all feeling the urge to get ready for summer with warm weather and long days.

If you are gardening, walking, biking, swimming or just enjoying being outdoors, remember to wear your sunscreen and take things easy so you can enjoy your summer.
