I am a daughter of a military man who has passed away.
He served our country proud, the United States of America, along with other military men and women.
If my father were alive today, he'd be like any and all the veterans who are, and should be upset over the photo on the cover of the “Time Magazine.”
The men in this photo, when there, raised an American Flag, not a tree.
This photo to me is an injustice to any and all the military men and women; no matter if deceased or alive.
My brothers also have served proudly, I might add. They are upset over this photo as well.
My “significant other,” a gunny U.S. Marine, served in Vietnam and wears his uniform proudly, is like many Marines, very upset over this photo.
So you should try and make it right, as I honestly don't think it's right, what has been done. We in our families whole heartedly disagree with the photo.
And you can quote us: “We do live in the Land of the Free.” It is my words.

As a veteran myself, I thought this was a great use of this icon. So many morons act as if this was the first time this symbol has been used to represent something besides a military conquest. "
