On Saturday, Creekside Books & Coffee will hold a presentation and book signing by authors Peter Winnewisser and Scott Ouderkirk.
The work of both authors devles into the nostalgia of days gone by through both story and graphics.
According to the publisher's note, Winnewisser's book, “The Legendary Model A Ford,” published in 1999 by Krause Publications, is based on original sources and information from the Ford Research Center. It contains more than 300 photos dedicated to the car's late '20s early '30s heyday.
“Readers will fully understand how the Model A kept America moving through the Great Depression,” claims the publisher's note.
Ouderkirk is the author of the books “Sunday Drive” and “Barns,” and illustrator of the book “Adirondack Run.”
In “Sunday Drive,” Ouderkirk takes readers on a trip with him, using “images and words to trigger fond memories of the past,” says the author's Web site, www.scottouderkirk.com.
“Barns” lives up to the name. It contains 80 pages of barn images. And each copy of “Barns” is handcrafted by Ouderkirk.
“Adirondack Run” is a short graphic novel about bootlegging. The Web site says, “it also helps if you like old cars, good musics, clear winter nights and people who trust you without asking a lot of questions. There's some true love in here too.”
Ouderkirk is a graduate of SUNY Oswego and Syracuse University. In addition to writing, he is an artist, teacher and craftsman who teaches and lives with his family in Addison.
