Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven in Alton is partnering with Genesee Region Special Olympics to raise money for both organizations in the upcoming Spike's Hike fundraiser to be held May 24.
To raise funds, CBP is putting together a team of walkers who are seeking sponsors; each palace walker is hiking on behalf of one of the farm animals, including Mr. Barry Goat and Ms. Peeps Chicken.
The first $150 raised by the team goes to help support Special Olympics; after that, 50 percent of all funds raised will go directly to Cracker Box Palace and the other 50 percent will go to Special Olympics.
Sponsors can track the fundraising progress online and make donations. Dontations can also be made through the mail; simply mail a check payable to Cracker Box Palace to PO Box 174, Alton, NY 14413.
A tax-deductible donation will assist in continued care of the farm's rescued animals and will also help more than 3,000 Special Olympics athletes to realize their dreams.
