The mall will hold Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, to give back to the community by providing fun and exciting activities throughout the entire day. The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse will present “Aesop's Fables;” show times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. across from Aeropostale.

Other activities include games and prizes provided by Olympia Sports, free caricature drawings provided by Bradley Cole, a room where children can participate in arts and crafts projects, Karate demonstrations by Fingerlakes Karate Studio, live DJ, musical chairs contest with prizes, free tokens provided for Fun & Games Arcade, chance to win gift cards to Steve & Barry's, children's face painting by J.C. Penney and enter to win a webkinz, moonwalk and carnival games presented by Reva Rollerdrome and mascots like Abner Double Day, Jasmine, Aladdin, Spiderman and more.

Also, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department will provide Safe Child ID Tags for children.

Visitors can stop by and benefit The March of Dimes as well.

Having this much fun will likely make attendees, hungry. In addition to the malls food court, there will be cotton candy, buy one get one free slushies at the Corner Deli, popcorn provided by Fingerlakes Theater, $1 fried dough at Avicolli's and free smoothies at Mr. Smoothies.

We at the mall would like to thank all of the stores, outside organizations and businesses that sponsored this event, including Brandon Wakeham, our customer service representative, Nicolette Yantch, Darci Tanner and Alex Moochler, who interned from the BOCES New Visions Program.

• Shopper may buy a gift card for a friend or loved one and in return the Fingerlakes Mall will offer the purchaser a free gift. Now through May 31, with each Fingerlakes Mall Gift Card purchase made at the Customer Service Center, we will in turn give a free Shop Green “reusable” shopping bag.

• Palmer's Hallmark will host a Webkinz Day Extravaganza Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 25, 26 and 27.

A free Webkinz Plush will be given with any purchase of $10 or more, while supplies last.

• The 17th annual Book Bonanza to benefit St. Joseph School is now accepting donations of new and used books, audio books, videos, DVDs and CDs for its sale at the book drop located near the main mall entrance near Sears.

The sale dates are July 12 and 13. Items not accepted for donations include Reader's Digest Condensed books, magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias or anything wet or without covers.
