In the spirit of Earth Day, Sterling Naure Center will host CITO - Spring Cleaning at Sterling Nature Center II. CITO stands for Cache-In-Trash-Out. The event is meant to encourage geocachers to pick up litter as they seek out hidden caches.
Geocaching is a type of scavenger hunt using a Global Positioning System unit to find the geographic coordinates of hidden items. There are nine geocaches hidden at the nature center.

At last year's CITO, 25 people removed more than 40 bags of trash and other large debris from the site.

The eco-friendly event also offers rewards such as a geo-coin and will be followed by refreshments. Non-geocachers are also invited.
