We so appreciate the wonderful coverage in The Citizen of our recent used clothing sale.
The Citizen does a terrific job of communicating to our neighbors everything that is going on in our community.
We would, however, like to take the time to correct a couple of misunderstandings that may have arisen from the article that ran last Sunday.
Colleen Carter has a wicked sense of humor and she was using exaggeration to make a comic, but important point, about the holes in the ceiling of our main room.
In fact, we have had a couple of birds fly in through these openings in the past, but our recent renovations and repairs to the bell tower and the foundation have sealed wildlife out of the building.
And Pat Hill#'s remarks were that we do use the facility for a variety of community and family programs and events, but that it would be so much nicer if they could be held in a room with a ceiling in good repair.
While we have holes in our plaster ceiling, our metal roof is in good condition and is regularly sealed against the elements. In fact, this very room was used last year for our five event summer performance series and will again be the venue for five very interesting concerts, the Frontenac Festival, this summer.
The main room has wonderful acoustics which makes it the ideal site for a cappella voices. The Brass Quintet of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra commented that it was a space made for brass and they will be returning on May 11 with another Mother's Day concert that should not be missed.
We hope all your readers will buy tickets to these delightful concerts this summer and know they will be held in a room that is safe and comfortable, despite some holes in the ceiling that need repair.
