The government needs to share more love

Love makes the world go 'round. Sadly, if something surely is missing in the world today, it's that four letter word, LOVE.
Ah yes, love, wherefore art thou? “In the morning mist, two lovers kissed and the world stood still.” (Love is a Many Splendored Thing lyrics). Love is truly a many splendored thing. Yet today, other things seem to be of more importance like greed, materialism. Long ago, and seemingly far away, love was what it was all about. Falling in love was the American dream and everything else was secondary. The thought of being in love ruled. The love lyrics of songs say it all.

“I have often walked down the street before. But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before. All at once am I, several stories high, knowing I'm on the street where you live.” (On the Street Where You Live lyrics).

Love truly does make the world go 'round. “Around the world I searched for you. I traveled on when hope was gone to keep a rendezvous.” “No more will I go around the world, for I have found my world in you.” (Around the World lyrics).

Everything is beautiful with love at the helm. Even the weather doesn't matter. “The snow is falling, the wind is blowing, but I can weather the storm. I've got my love to keep me warm.” (I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm lyrics).

Love needs to be found in a world today that is surely lacking love. There's too much aloofness, hate, meanness, bitterness. Governments are not a good role model for love.

There, for sure, love should be showing. Most heads of state are completely detached from the general populace. That's one big hunk of love that world isn't getting. Government's obsession with waging wars years in and years out, knocks love in the world for one big loop. What a shame that the need for love in the world goes pretty much unnoticed. The sad part is it shouldn't. If love is in the air -- where? That love God shows us we need to reciprocate. “Oh, the towering feeling, just to know someone how you are near. That overpowering feeling, that any second you (love) might suddenly appear.” (On the Street Where You Live lyrics).
