Air America shouldn't have suspended the hostess that made those remarks off the air.
It's true we have a right to free speech, but no one has a right to slander or intentionally inflict emotional harm. The people she slandered should seek redress in the civil courts.
She can say what she wants on her time, and she can and should be held liable for slander.

As for RR, you have an unnamed witness. Nothing more to go on.
Karl, excellent question. I always wondered if it had anything to do with war stocks. "

Surely you can admit that this war was started on a lie?
Surely you can admit that the cost of it was a lie too?
Surely you know that it is destroying our military, bankrupting our kids' futures and not accomplishing anything but nation-building?
I'm honestly curious--what would you be saying if it was a Democrat who started this war? "

The comments made by Elliot were correct? That some GOP thug beat up the woman? Lets see, at a bar drinking, goes outside for a smoke, falls down and bashes her face on the sidewalk...It must be Bush's/Cheney's/Halliburton's/GOP's fault because she was driven to drink by the fascist US government and the money for fixing the sidewalk was being spent on bombing brown people (does that sound about right AJ?).
Never heard the baby story before now. "

But, it was a hoax masterminded by the PR firm Hill & Knowlton (with our tax dollars), part of which was arranging for the testimony of a tearful 15 yr old Kuwaiti girl in front of Congress, who claimed that hundreds of children were ripped out of their incubators by the Iraqis. Besides only having a fraction of that number of incubators in all of Kuwait, the story turned out to be a complete fraud. It was later discovered that the 15 yr old girl was the daughter of a Kuwaiti ambassador to the US.
You probably don't remember, but Kuwait was illegally slant drilling into Iraq, and one of our ambassadors to Iraq at the time gave Saddam essentially a green light to invade Kuwait.
The war mongers will stop at nothing to get your support for a needless war, and this was a particularly notable example.

Did I miss something?
I read something in the NY Post about Randi Rhodes as well as:

I am still waiting for your answer with regard to the "incubator babies", Chris.
Regarding AA and RR, I thought the story sounded funny, but I would like to know what YOUR source for your claim about how the incident went down. "

Comedy? The only comedy was Air America itself, a comedy of errors.
Too little free speech? Holy Chicken Little AJ. Have you had your free speech stifled? Got examples? "

I encourage you to go and look up current definitions for the word "wh0re", and tell me if one of those definitions doesn't fit. They ARE sellouts, or it certainly appears so to me and anyone paying any attention.
2nd, it was also part of a comedy routine, which has its own protections.
We have to be VERY careful when we are dealing with free speech. We have too little as it is. "
