Senior Steven Brooks led the No. 1 team in the nation in the Syracuse men's lacrosse team, with three goals and three assists in the team's 13-6 win over 15th- ranked Princeton on Saturday.
With the win in the Carrier Dome, the Orange remain undefeated at home. On hand to witness the win was the original team of the 1988 National Champions. They were there to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 13-8 win over Cornell.
As 6,501 fans gathered to cheer on the Orange, Brooks and classmate Brandan Loftus put on a show.
Loftus finished with three goals and one assist. The duo combined for Syracuse's first nine points, scoring four of the team's first five goals.
Junior attacker Kenny Nims finished with two goals and two assists as he continues his hot streak.
Also for the Orange, Skaneateles' Steve Babbles recorded one shot and Jordan-Elbridge alumn Kyle Guadagnolo scooped up three ground balls.
Going into intermission, the Orange held a slim 6-4 lead, but broke the game open in the second half.
Stephen Keogh scored two goals for Syracuse. He also had the game-clinching goal with a behind-the-back shot with eight seconds left in the third quarter by making the score 10-6.
The Orange's defense marked the seventh time this season in which they allowed under 10 goals. They also held the Tigers leading scorers to just one goal each. John Galloway had seven saves in the net to lead the Orange defense.
Syracuse (8-1) head to Cornell Tuesday.
