A memorial exhibition of paintings and lithographs by the late Arnold Singer of Cornell University will be on display in Wells College from April 9 through May 8.
Singer was known for his mastery of lithography and painting. He was a master printer at the Pratt Graphic Art Center.
His art was often focused on the human figure and is noted by “strong, simplified forms, graceful contours and large areas of solid color,” according to a Wells College press release.
His work was displayed on both the cover of Fortune Magazine, in 1957, and the UNICEF calendar, in 1966.
He retired, as a professor emeritus, from Cornell in 1988 and died in January 2005 at the age of 84.
