Thruway project could cause severe delays for commuters

The New York State Thruway Authority announced the Buckley Road Bridge reconstruction project between Interchange 36 for Watertown, Binghamton and I-81, and Interchange 37 for Syracuse, Liverpool and Electronics Parkway, will require the northbound lane to close beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, April 3, until approximately Oct. 1.
All northbound traffic will be diverted into the southbound lane. Even though traffic lights will be used to regulate traffic, NYSTA said travelers should expect severe to moderate delays in both directions.

Detours will be established to advise southbound motorists to take Hopkins Road to Electronics Parkway onto Seventh Street. Northbound motorist should take Seventh North Street to Electronics Parkway onto Hopkins Road.
