Auburn City Council will vote today on whether to allow initial funds for the city's project to rehabilitate the state dam. An ordinance authorizing the city to issue $200,000 in serial bonds to fund engineering services for the dam is on the agenda for its weekly meeting.
At the last council meeting, a city engineer told the council that the dam needs numerous upgrades in order to maintain its structural integrity and allow it to properly control the level of Owasco Lake and the Owasco River.
The city also needs to begin the rehabilitation process in order to secure available funds from the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
The measure is one of more than a dozen items on the business agenda. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in Auburn City Hall's council chambers.
