" Hi--I graduated AHS in the class of 1992, and am trying to contact some old friends. Steve Caleb was one of them, and I've had alot of trouble finding any contact info. Does anyone know if he moved away? He also graduated in 1992 and used to have an apt. on North St. Thanks for your help! "

" I suppose this may have been asked before and I might have missed it, so I'll bring it up anyways. Any chance of getting a real forum here?

Off topic, know any good PHP programmers in the area? "

" nature lover,

Unfortunately, there are some stories in the paper that don't get published online.

The article you are referring to was in Saturday's edition, on page C2.

If you wanted to stop in to our office on Dill street, you can purchase a back edition, we keep stacks of copies for quite some time. "

" Dear Webitor...in Saturdays paper there was an artical that was titled "Scholars: resurrection..." It was page two of what I beleive was the lakelife section. I cant seem to locate using the archive function so that I can send this article online to a friend...can u help? TY "

" I don't have an idea what that is for. We use software on our web server that is updated from time to time by our parent company. The email box showed up when they did an update on the comment system. Mine is automatically filled out with the email that I put in when I registered for comments, so I just leave it there. I can tell you that we are not sharing those emails with any outside party. "

" BTW, I was mistaken about the search results appearing in a logical, chronological order -- it must have happened by chance just that one time. "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Mar 14, 2008 6:26 PM:

" Well, do fill us on the "optional e-mail" box now appearing above the "Comments" text box -- is that one of these new features you're working on? "

" Sorry guys, I had http://www.auburnpub.com/articles/2008/02/29/blogs/citizen_webitor.txt as my bookmark for this page, which is the February archive, not the current archive, which is always at http://www.auburnpub.com/blogs/citizen_webitor.txt

Either way, it looks like Farmer's Gal has done nicely as deputy webitor in my absence.

We have been busy behind the scenes working on various features which will be announced soon. Right now I am trying to get our videos working again after a change with our server yesterday. "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Mar 14, 2008 1:08 PM:

" Karl, I'll bet the Disney article came from the AP -- which isn't indexed locally on The Citizen website. So, when you use The Citizen search feature, you can only search articles which which originate with The Citizen and hence are indexed by them.

It's a drag, but I understand how it works. Think of all those extra AP articles more like some kind of feed -- someone else has control over when they come and go and they aren't a part of the "collection" in any permanent way.

There is a radio button in the search box to choose to search the web at large, but I find it easier to just type keywords into Yahoo (or many people prefer Google) -- you can find most any AP article that way.

Hope that helped while the Webitor doesn't seem to be currently answering questions. Maybe he is out sick.... "

" I posted a reply to Marty Silverman's letter over an hour ago. Still nowhere to be found Was it just a slip through the cracks, or my harmless tit-for-tat right wing kook comment? "

karl L wrote on Mar 10, 2008 2:08 PM:

" webitor, will you PLEASE fix that CRAPPY "Search" feature--it's practically WORTHLESS! I just typed in "Disney" to get back to an article on Disney in Japan, and got nothing. This is like the fourth or fifth time that this feature has proved worthless-can't you get it to search for key words and phrases? "

RICH????? are you on vacation? "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Mar 7, 2008 10:29 AM:

" Question: If a user chooses to enter the option e-mail address, how is that used? Does it appear with a post, or is if only for internal purposes, or what? I don't think I plan to enter anything, but I am curious.

cm -- they aren't posting new Two Cents columns every day any more, so, for example, you might see Feb 26, Feb 28 and Mar 3. If you look at, say, Feb 28, you'll find comments from Feb 28 through 2 Mar, and sometimes past that date if someone (like me!) went back and continued a conversation on the old page.

Rich can confirm, but I think this is the right answer to the question. "

cm wrote on Mar 4, 2008 7:13 AM:

" When I archive "two cents" why are there dates missing? I thought it was a 14 day archive.
Even when I enter the date range-the "two cents" are missing there too.
?????? "
