CHEEKTOWAGA - Five young people were injured when a man opened fire with a shotgun outside a suburban Buffalo bowling alley that was hosting an Easter weekend "teen night," police said.
Three of the victims were hit by bird shot and the two others were struck by flying glass when the gunman opened fire around 11:45 p.m. at Thruway Lanes in Cheektowaga, just east of Buffalo, police said.
Cheektowaga police said none of the injuries was life-threatening. Police Capt. John Glascott said the shooting was preceded by a confrontation between two groups inside the bowling alley.
Police say between 200 and 250 teenagers were inside the business Sunday night.
The gunman fled the scene.
