Two 12-year-olds face graffiti charges

The Auburn Police Department said it has charged two 12-year-old male teenagers with three counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and one count of third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, for damaging four different buildings with spray paint.
The boys are charged with spray painting graffiti on the Prospect Street buildings on the evening of March 16, police said. The cases will be turned over to the Cayuga County Probation Department for possible court action in Cayuga County Family Court.
The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is also investigating property damage that occurred outside of city limits.
